Below is what Wiki has to say about the kilns.(Source:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birch_Creek_Charcoal_Kilns)
The Birch Creek Charcoal Kilns are a group of beehive-shaped clay charcoal kilns near Leadore, Idaho, built in 1886. They were listed on theNational Register of Historic Places in 1972.
The kilns were built in 1886 to produce charcoal to fuel the smelter at Nicholia, which smelted lead and silver ore from the Viola Mine located about 10 miles east of the kilns.[2][3][4][5] The Viola ore deposit was discovered in 1881 and was mined until 1888, when the ore was depleted and the price of lead had fallen.[3][6] The Nicholia smelter, located about 3 miles west of the mines, had two blast furnaces, each with a daily capacity of 40 short tons (36 t) of ore.[2][3][4][5][6]
Butte, Montana, man named Warren King built 16 kilns from brick made from local clay, possibly obtained from Jump Creek on the east side of the Birch Creek valley. The beehive-shaped kilns are each about 20 feet (6.1 m) tall and 20 feet (6.1 m) in diameter. When operating, each kiln used 30 to 40 cords of Douglas fir wood per load, producing about 1,500 to 2,000 bushels (70 cubic meters) of charcoal over a two-day burn. The kiln operation lasted for less than three years, employing 150 to 200 people at its peak, and had a monthly output estimated at 44,000 to 50,000 bushels (1550 to 1762 cubic meters) of charcoal.[2][3][4][5][7]
The ruins of four kilns survive.[2][5] They are located on the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, which operates the location as a public interpretive site.[3][7] Nicholia is now a ghost town, with only a few ruins remaining.[8] There are no surviving remains of the town of Woodland, a short distance south of the kilns, where the kiln workers lived.[2][5] The kilns were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. The listing included four contributing structures on 6 acres (2.4 ha).[1] In 1987, a volunteer-assisted stabilization effort prevented one of the kilns from collapsing.[9]The Forest Service undertook a restoration of the kilns in 2000.[4]3D Model of Coal Kilns created by Chris Baker[10]

    Construction Drones Buy In!

    I have a question?
I maybe covering this topic later. Will be attending some training tomorrow using drones in construction.

How would a construction or even a engineering firm utilize drones for there job site? What do you see as the real need being met using drones in this industry?

If I gave you $1,000 what would you buy on Amazon?

My wife said she would by a 18Mp Camera with one of those zoom lenses the Olympic photographers are using. My daughter would buy a horse, can you buy a horse on amazon? My son would buy video games. As for me I am not sure. Maybe something along the lines of technology.

One drone proves deadly to wildlife! (Video)

My Killer shot! DJI Phantom 3 Advanced HD
Hunting from Drones is illegal! Shoot safe and non harassing!
Caution.. Drone hunting season is in....by raptors and agitated hunters!

If your a wildlife photography nut you may want to try to use a drone to get those famous shots. However, your likely not going too. Why? The drones are noisy!!!!! Most drones are noise ridden electric machines. Try to get within 100'  of the animal and you will more than likely only get the rear end of the animal.

    Option 1
    You need better equipment!

If your serious and want to get pictures  or cinematography like no one else will here is a solution......Just a solution not THE solution! Attach a higher end camera like a DJI Zenmuse to the Inspire 1 v2.0. The two will set you back somewhere around $5,000 to $6,000 (USD). But if this is going to become your business you will jump in with both feet anyways and not look back!

    Option v1.1
Use a more cost effective mothod with DJI Phantom 3 and the 2.5k camera.

The DJI Phantom 3 Advanced will take amazing HD photography and HD video...... see above. With this option at only around $800 (USD) you will still have some gas left in your tank. What is nice about the advanced with the 2.5k camera is I can use the AEB camera function to take 3 to 7 photos in one shot and all my shots have different exposures. What I do whith those is create my HDR photo by merging the multiple exposure images in my Corel Photo Suite. This creates my HDR photos. The software is usually less than $100 too! Want to make money on those pics download and sign up for the iOS and Android app called FOAP. Or check out the stock video liscensing company www.BraveBison.com.

3 things people should know about drones (Video).

3 things people should know about drones (Video).

Visit my page for drone footage from a DJI Phantom 3.

Choosing a drone or an unmanned aerial vehicle.
When choosing a drone people need to know that smaller is better. That is start learning with smaller drones such as those by SYMA, or a nice camera drone for under $200 X8G with 5Mb camera. A quadcopter versus a fixed wing is better. Using a quadcopter gives you the ability to use indoors and more practice time. The other reason is these drones will not handle any real wind. So if your serious about drones start on a cheap quadcopter less then $80.

For the commercial drone users for cinematography and or mapping use the below. These drones below will handle the wind and are equipped with the latest safety features. I never flew one before my phantom 3, but when I did I was amazed! I have never crashed mine either. A testament to DJI for safety.

    Phantom 4  around $1,200 DJI Phantom 4

Phantom 3 Standard around $500 DJI Phantom 3 Standard

My drone the Phantom 3 Advanced around $800 and AWESOME! DJI Phantom 3 Advanced

Or for the all in commercial grade drone around $2,000 DJI Inspire

    Know the rules.
FAA has finally stepped up there enforcement on unauthorized drone use. When you get your drone register at faa and pay the $5 to do it ASAP. Go to https://registermyuas.faa.gov/ and register it today? Save your registry as a PDF and save it on your phone or tablet for easy access.
